Objectives
The project seeks to promote the development of the tourist sector in Syria and Lebanon. The main activity is the implementation of preparatory actions pertinent to a development model for tourism in the two countries. The project targets the identification and proposition of policy recommendations for boosting future integrated tourist development in the wider region. Specific focus of the project will be (a) to set the case for increasing the benefits of sustainable tourism in the region through a holistic ap-proach, (b) promote participation of many population groups in tourism development. In addition and in parallel to the elaboration of the studies, capacity-building seminars for the exchange of experience in the field of tourism will be undertaken for specific target-groups.
